"All of the necessary lab supplies are provided to our nurses in individual patient kits. The supplies are specific to the needs of home care (i.e., luer adapters are provided), but even more importantly the nurse does not arrive at the patient's home without the necessary blood draw supplies. They are the only laboratory that has ever taken the nurse's unique non-clinical workplace into consideration."

Collins I.V. Care, Inc., Holly Kostuk

"It is not uncommon for the labs we work with to mix up patient identifications or "lose" specimens - this rarely if ever occurs with HHLA. This fact alone contributes to significantly fewer re-draws."

"Since most other labs are not providing trended results, it forces us to transcribe lab data into a trending format, an exercise that is both time-consuming and creates opportunities for errors."

Neighbor Care Pharmacy, Teruko K. Redclick RN

  Lab-in-a-Box®

The Only Lab Designed Specifically for the Home Healthcare Provider. Some of the nations largest home healthcare providers are using Home Healthcare Laboratory of America (HHLA) because we are the only lab designed specifically to meet their needs. After years of research, we have developed a system that allows providers to draw blood and ship it directly to HHLA without centrifuging (spinning) the blood.

It's all in the lab kit. HHLA's Lab-in-a-Box® kit contains all the necessary blood collection supplies and a pre-addressed diagnostic pouch for overnight shipping. The kit has been scientifically designed to assure that lab specimens maintain their clinical integrity regardless of extreme temperatures.

Shipping the kit is simple. The nurse no longer has to rush patient specimens to a clinical lab for centrifuging. The nurse now can package the Lab-in-a-Box® kit and drop it off at one of thousands of approved shipping sites at anytime during the day. Immediate centrifuging is no longer a factor in maintaining specimen integrity. There are no labels to fill out or fees to pay.

LabProfile® gives easy-to-read, accurate results. The test results are available to you on the day we receive the kit. They are faxed to both the home healthcare pharmacy/agency and the physician, eliminating extra faxing and follow-up by the home healthcare provider. Since we report current results alongside the last three test results, it is easy to see developing trends and provide the best possible patient care.

WebHHLA® provides real-time results and training. Providers can also access test results on a special, secure web site. An on-line training program educates staff on proper usage of the Lab-in-a-Box® kit and includes a competency testing component.

Nurses and pharmacists save time with HHLA. Using HHLA for your lab work has many advantages including:

  • Nurses no longer serve as couriers, rushing specimens to the lab to be centrifuged and tested.
  • Since pharmacists and nurses receive trended results, transcribing onto a trending chart is eliminated.
  • No time wasted searching for the lab that processed the results since all results are located at HHLA.
  • Physicians receive the results directly from HHLA making consultations simpler and easier.

HHLA bills the patients' insurance company directly. Patients are responsible for their deductibles, co-pays, or any out of network balances.. For more information on becoming an HHLA customer contact Customer Service at 888-522-4452 or email us at sales@hhla.com
