HHLA’s Insurance and Billing Services
Since 1997, Home Healthcare Laboratory of America (HHLA) has provided laboratory services to the home healthcare industry and has billed hundreds of insurance companies, HMO’s & governmental agencies.
HHLA Bills the Patient’s Insurance Provider
HHLA bills the patient’s insurance provider on their behalf. Although payment is usually made directly to HHLA, some insurance companies will pay the patient directly for HHLA’s services. In this case, it becomes the patient’s responsibility to send this payment to HHLA. HHLA will accept the insurance payment in full with the following exceptions. (In each of these cases, the patient is responsible for payment)
- Any co-pay or deductible that is part of the insurance plan.
- Any denial due to repeated inaccuracies or incorrect information.
- Denial due to insurance eligibility or non-covered service.
HHLA has secured over 70 local and national contractual relationships. Cigna and United list HHLA as the “National preferred laboratory provider for home health and home infusion patients”.
Should you encounter a payer that says that HHLA cannot be used for a patient’s lab draw please contact HHLA at 1-888-522-4452. Please identify with whom you spoke and which location chose not to use HHLA. Please feel free to contact us at HHLA anytime you have a question about any of your patients’ payers.
