"Before HHLA's lab services were introduced to our company, our nurses were required to rush lab specimens to the patient's applicable network lab after every blood draw. This meant that our nurses were unable to simply drive to the next patient visit, but instead had to act as couriers in the lab process, a hugely inefficient and costly way to handle home healthcare service." Integrity Homecare Services, Candace Dyer

Our Story | Our Legacy Our Mission Our Vision HIPAA
THE ONLY LAB DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE HOME HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY Home Healthcare Laboratory of America (HHLA) is the leading provider of customized clinical lab services to the home healthcare industry. After years of research, we have developed a system that allows providers to draw blood and ship it directly to HHLA without centrifuging (spinning) the blood. Our proprietary Lab-in-a-Box® kit contains all the necessary blood collection supplies and a pre-addressed diagnostic pouch for overnight shipping. We are able to test whole blood specimens sent from anywhere in the continental U.S. at our state-of-the-art clinical laboratory in Franklin, Tennessee (a suburb of Nashville). In 2003 the company introduced Lab-in-an-Envelope®. This product is designed to allow patients to collect their own specimens, in the privacy of their own homes, and send them directly to HHLA via U.S. mail. The current primary utilization is the diabetic patient needing A1c or microalbumin testing. WHY HHLA? Many of the nation’s largest home healthcare providers are experiencing cost and time saving efficiencies with HHLA. By eliminating the need to immediately centrifuge blood, nurses are able to efficiently move from one patient’s home to the next, simply dropping the specimens off at a FedEx drop-site at the end of the day. The next day test results are faxed to both the home healthcare provider and the patient’s doctor thereby eliminating extra faxing and follow-up by the home healthcare company. Since current results are reported alongside the last three test results, it is easy to see developing trends and thereby provide the best clinical response and patient care plan. The results are also available on a secured web site, WebHHLA®. |
